The video that wouldn't load....

I tried to get this video to load last night but it wouldn't and I needed to get to bed.

This is of us trying to teach Duncan to crawl.  Apparently it's the funniest thing ever.  To Duncan, anyway.

The difference between expectation & reality

Lightsabers are tasty

When I started this blog, I tried to give daily updates while Duncan was in hospital so I didn't have to call so many people.  I was on maternity leave & would get up to pump or because I couldn't sleep.  It was relatively easy to keep the blog up to date.

Fast forward 9 months.  Mighty D is now rolling all around the living room.  I work full-time.  Aaron works full-time for a massage therapist (23 hours a week).  We work opposite shifts so we don't have to put Duncan in daycare.  I also attempt to have a life outside of work.  So does Aaron.  (please note Aaron doesn't update the blog...)  We have one day off together and that's our family day.  Rarely will there be updates on a Sunday.

My expectation when I started this was to give regular updates.  The reality is that isn't happening.  I wish I could update more often but spending time with my family is the most important thing in my life.

Okay.  Now I've hopefully lowered your expectations.  Now for the real updates...

Duncan did really well at his 9 month check.  Nothing major to report there.  We haven't had to change any of his medications.  All is going well :)

Duncan has a few new tricks.  He understands at least 10 signs (more, eat, milk, Momma, Daddy, love, all done, cereal, ball, thank you & good).  We try to work the sign language into as much of our daily conversation as possible so Duncan gets a lot of exposure to it.

He is quite the roller.  He just giggles when we try to get him to crawl but he can get across the room like lightning if he wants to.  He loves to stand up and bonk foreheads with us.

He can roll a ball back and forth (about twice.  then he gets bored).

Poor little guy caught a stomach bug this week.  We had to give him a shot which sucked but helped him get over the worst of it.  We ended up taking him in to the doctor, just in case, but it was a virus so all we could do was try to get as much liquid into him as possible.  Then we spent all of Tuesday morning sterilizing the toys & his room :P

Parenting is fun!  Why couldn't he have started with a cold?  It had to be barfing.  Sigh.

I'm taking a knitting class to learn how to make a sweater.  I've completed 3 classes & the last class is next Monday.  I'm going to learn how to seam which is my big hang-up.  Plus I'll have a sweater :)

I also got a new camera & have been playing with it.  Read taking lots of pictures of Duncan.

The snow is almost gone & it's about time to clean out the flower beds.  My friend Steve's son is borrowing my old alto saxophone & Steve didn't want him to think things just appear & you don't have to work for them.  So he'll be helping with yard work this summer.  Yay - I don't have to rake!  And neither does Aaron :)  We're really grateful for his help.

Now, on to pictures...

Hi Momma!

My bottle & my burp rag.  Life is good.

Duncan's present to Daddy (3 new vests)

Pfft - Chris Evans has nothing on Duncan Tinsley!

Momma plays with this thing.  Maybe I should, too?

Gettin' ready for the big game.  Or a bottle.  Whatever.

What is so interesting about Momma's purse??
