Final baseball game of 2011

Last night was the final baseball game of the Indians' 2011 season.  They were a decent team - not great, didn't make the playoffs, but they were entertaining.

Because it was the last night, I actually remembered my camera so I could get pictures with Duncan & the mascots.

We have two.  They are both Spokanasauruses (Spokanasaurus'?  Spokanasaurui?).  Anyway.  Duncan has been in love with Doris the Spokanasaurus since she was introduced.  The child has no fear.  He gets profoundly upset when she leaves.  The child has minimal separation anxiety when a parent leaves.  Doris leaves?  Screaming fit.  We find it hilarious!

For some reason, Duncan has decided that letting me sleep in is the craziest thing ever.  This morning he was bright-eyed at 7:30.  I gave him his medicine & milk & hoped he would go back to sleep.  No such luck.  A couple weeks ago he discovered he could move the curtains and look outside.  Since the back of the house faces east, one teensy gap in the curtains = God's waiting room.  It is super bright.  After I put him back down, I made my coffee and grabbed my book, hoping for an hour or so of peace before the boys joined me.

No such luck.  Instead, Duncan decided, rather loudly, that he needed to be out of his crib.  But it all resulted in snuggles so it was worth it :)

After his nap today, we may head out to the shops to check out some of the sales.  But we'll see - it all depends on the mood of the wee beastie.

I will leave you with a video...The Indians have another mascot:  Recycleman.  This guy is amazing.  He actually went to the mascot school run by the first Philadelphia Phanatic.  Check out his final entrance to the stadium this year...

And now we're caught up

Standing on my wagon cuz I'm a big guy
Hanging out with Pops
Meeting Eleen :)

What happens when the shelves are too close to the crib

My first ISU sweatshirt
My ducky bathtub
Happy Father's Day!!!
I'm totally innocent of whatever you're accusing me of
any yet you put me in baby jail
Hot summer nights = slow melt popsicles
Momma and Daddy's new couch.  I make it look good.
There you go.  Assorted candids, a video and now we're all caught up picture-wise.

Stories...hmmm...

We're fairly certain Duncan's first word was "Hiya".  Or possibly Dada.  Or Hiya Dada.  He just chatters and chatters.

He also sits in his baby jail and sorts his toys and blocks.  And whistles while he does it.  I'm not even certain he realizes he does.  Apparently I do the same thing.  And after some thinking, my dad used to do it, too!  I love totally random genetics!!!!

We think Duncan has 10 to 12 teeth.  Neither of us is willing to stick a finger in his mouth to check & he does NOT like to open his mouth if you want to look.

Duncan finally got to meet Grandma Eleen & Pops.  They were on their way to their grandson's wedding in Seattle & stopped by.  Duncan had lots of fun with them.

Poor Duncan...at my last chiropractor appointment (Aaron was next door at the massage therapist), Duncan was hanging out with me.  When we were called back for my adjustment, I parked his stroller and went to the table.  As soon as the Doctor touched my back, Duncan SCREAMED bloody murder.  I had forgotten to give the doctor a hug & let Duncan know it was all okay.  My poor little guy was not happy until I was finally off the table & able to pick him up.  It was pretty entertaining, especially considering that he's definitely Daddy's guy.  But apparently he doesn't want to share his Momma :)

Now I'm off to bed.  Tomorrow is Friday & then the long weekend!

Safe travels to anyone who is going places!!!

Just pictures

Yes, I know it's September.  Yes, I know I promised pictures.  No, I didn't deliver said pictures in a timely manner.  But since I have the pictures and get to look at them...

Wrong answer, I know.

So here are the professional, Duncan is officially 1 pictures.  I have lots of other candids but this is a start, right?

There were some others but I'm not putting pictures of my son's nekkid tushie on the internet, no matter how adorable it is.  There's already enough from previous blog entries to justify matricide.

As always I'll try to post more stories more often with cute pictures.  In my spare time.  Which actually might happen this time because baseball season is over for our team on Saturday.  Famous last words.
