We've now had over 27 hours of full feedings - the last time Duncan was gavaged during a feeding was yesterday at the 9 am. He's doing really well. He was also pretty awake during the noon gavage feed. A very good sign he might be ready for back-to-back feedings. But we'll probably wait until tomorrow or Monday to try that. Depends on if the OT agrees. Or if she's in LOL. Someone should get the 4th off!!!
The nurses have been trying to get Aaron & I to go out & do something. Aaron drug me, pretty much kicking and screaming, shopping this week. I didn't want to to go but it was probably a good thing. We may actually use our baseball tickets for one of the games this week. Not for the 4th of July, but for the 5th or 6th. It'll actually work out since we normally rest from about 1 or 2 to about 8 or so. But we'll leave (or I'll leave) around 8:30ish so I can get to the hospital for the 9 pm breastfeeding session.
The doctor was still encouraged today and didn't change anything. Duncan also gained weight and is now at 5 pounds, 15.1 ounces. Almost 6 whole pounds!! It's odd to be so excited over him getting to be the size of a small, "normal" baby. But we are :) This is good news because it means Duncan meets the weight minimum for release. Granted, the weight minimum was 5 pounds (I think) but I'm okay with him being a chunky guy! Well, he's not exactly chunky but he's getting more baby fat & it's terribly cute.
